Summer Holidays

 During English class we had an assignment to write an essay a bout a holiday. We could pick any holiday of our choice. For my essay I chose to write about the best holiday of all, summer holidays of course. I hope you enjoy reading it.

Do you enjoy summer holidays? What a stupid question, well of course you do, who doesn’t? I know I do, they are the best times during the year, apart from hanging out with my friends. However summer holidays are still the finest of all, in my opinion. I am sure many other people would agree with me. It provides the most luxury for a person. I strongly believe that summer holidays are the greatest of all, because they are the longest, which means more things to do, total relaxation at the beach and I get to hang out with my best friends for 2 and a half months.

First of all summer holidays are the best simply because it is the longest holiday during the year. With lots more time, we can accomplish more goals. First of all I have so much time to catch up with my friends in Nis who I didn’t see in 3 months. We can set out to the pool, walk around the city or simply visit and talk to each other. Also apart from my friends in Nis, I can visit all of my friends out of Nis. Lastly I have time to carry out lots of activities, for example visit many places and have lots more fun. In addition since I have so much time, I can do more activities. I can peacefully read my books. However during school time I always have homework stopping me and taking away time from reading. Subsequent I have plenty of time to watch movies. So many movies come out every day, since I can’t watch them in a cinema; I still have time to watch them at home. Lastly of course I can’t forget the TV - series. I have been watching them for the entire school year, however now I will be able to watch them without my mom getting mad. I will have time to watch all of the episodes I have missed out on and didn’t have time to watch. As you can see watching movies, TV series and reading books are some of my favorite activates, and during summer vacation I have plenty of time to catch up to all of them. Lastly I can visit so many places during the summer holiday. This year I am first visiting Greece with my friend Despina. I am going to Nis to see my friends and family, and lastly I will visit turkey with my friends from Nis and family. To conclude, more free time can make your life so much easier. You can visit all your friends, go to many different places and catch up to your activities.

Second of all during summer holidays we can get total relaxation. First we have no school to disturb us since it is the end of school year which leads right to, well of course, no homework to worry about. We don’t have to study for any upcoming tests. We don’t have to worry about report cards as well. With all that pain of our backs, we have no worries about having too much fun. We can relax on the beach (scuba diving, swimming, reading on the beach, sun tanning) without having to study on the beach as well. We can go to the pool or go to vacation with friends. Lastly of course we don’t have teachers always around us. No one to give us bad grades on the tests we must complete. Teachers can’t boss us around, however during vacation that is our parent’s job. So as you can see we get total relaxation unlike for other holidays. We get no school responsibilities, grades are not one of our main focuses and no teachers. However parents will still be there next to us.

Even though we get total relaxation and no school, I will miss my other friends. I will miss my best friends Despina, Mira and Elena. Even if we are going to Greece with them in July, I will miss them after I leave. That means after break we have lots to catch up on. Also even if I have other friends in Nis, I will miss the ones I can’t see. I will miss them when I go on my trip to Turkey. That brings me to my second reason, they won’t be there with me in Turkey. I need my friends to have complete fun. However even though I will miss them, a family vacation is always good and fun. Last however definitely not least, I will miss my good friend Emma. The reason why is because she is leaving to Indonesia at the end of the year. I will not be able to see her during or after summer break, unless she visits of course, and I will miss her being there every morning, making me laugh and smile. So as you can see during summer vacation you don’t have complete fun, you have friend who will leave you, and friends who you will miss.

So from my essay, I hope that you all concluded that summer vacation does have good and bad sides. First of all summer holidays are the most amazing of all the holidays simply because it is the longest holiday during the year. We totally exhausted students need total relaxation, summer holidays can provide that for us. However as I said, summer holidays are not always the best. I will miss my other friends who are out of town. The worst part of all are the friends who are leavening, they are the ones who will always make you sad for summer holidays starting.
